A Wide Ministry Swath

For 78 years, there have been people coming to the Youth Farm Bible Camp for a summer camp/retreat experience.  That in itself is amazing and a testament to the people that came before.  Now we are preparing for our 79th summer of ministry and its going to be exciting!

Our name says it all. We are a place for YOUTH.  We were started by youth.  Every summer transformation happens in the lives of the youth leaders.  They come as 15-18 year old volunteers and experience so much.  We have young adults leading the cabins and pouring into the lives of the volunteers.  There are so many stories where people say this is where their faith became real.  They now understand how important prayer is.  This was the first time they served others.  Its a powerful spiritual experience for youth, its why its part of our name.

We have always been a FARM and always will be a farm.  So much goodness, holistic, therapeutic, natural and spiritual growth happens on the farm.   Petting zoo animals and horses provide opportunities for campers and participants to connect with nature.  Playing on the farm is a wholesome activity.  The Youth Farm Corn Maze has given the opportunity for thousands and thousands to experience what is like to play on a farm.  The fields around us, the pastures, the green grass, the trees, the birds that I hear as I type, the sights and smells bring a quality to life.  If you can not live in it for life, you should at least live in it for a week!!

We are also a BIBLE CAMP.  Dedicated to teach others about Jesus Christ.  To share with people the freedom that comes when we have our identity as a child of God.  To serve others in all that we do, desiring to put their needs above our own - to sacrifice.  To be a place where people seek what it means to follow Jesus.  We are all on a journey.  We want to share with our world the joy we receive when Christ leads instead of self leading.  We find that the stories and letters in the Bible help us understand who God is.  Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. - Philippians 2:1-4

There is so much that happens on this FARM.  In this past week alone we have had school groups coming to our Equestrian-Assisted Learning program.  We are participating in a few community events with our activities.  We have campers applying for camp - children & youth, overnight and daycamp.  We have Adults with Intellectual Disabilities applying for camp.  Our corn was planted for the maze (thanks to Cam Enns!) and the design was finalized by Brett Herbst of The Maize Company.  We picked up some donated gates and panels for our horse corral.  We have had many people out for Riding Lessons.  Our lawn was cut (please pray for rain).  Eggs collected from our chickens (we sell them for $4 per 18).  Hague Mennonite Church was here for their Church Picnic.  Corporate Sponsors of the Corn Maze received packages for partnering with us.  Our summer t-shirt designs were finalized.  We received our monthly donations from the YFBC cultivators.  Videos for the summer are being planned.  Window screens were fixed.  Animals fed.  Horses trained.  Corrals painted by the Neuanlage Junior Youth.  Hundreds of phone calls, emails, and digital messages were answered - or maybe thousands this last week :)  UV protection was applied to our Jumping Pillow.  Picnic tables were fixed.  And more...

There is a wide swath of ministry that happens on this FARM.  From the summer camp to annual mission trips to Mexico and so much more in between.  It is our hope to Share Jesus with People and Provide a Place to Serve.  We would love for you to join us at the FARM.  Come as a kitchen volunteer, help out with maintenance, be a junior staff member (ages 15-20), join our Mexico Impact Trip, help out at the Corn Maze, make some cookies for camp, pray for the FARM, or come up with your own idea of how to volunteer here.  We need you!  Call us at 306-232-5133 ext 0, 1, 2, 3, 4...each one is a different staff or ministry department!  Send us a message on our Facebook page.  Send us an email.  Let us know you are interested in serving!

We are also looking for people to support our Campership program to send children to camp who do not have the funds.  We get many requests for funding so vulnerable children can attend our summer camp.  Please consider giving a donation to the fund.

Thanks so much for finding out a little more about the Youth Farm Bible Camp!  I would be happy to answer your call if you want to chat about anything!!
