For Everything There is a Season

Over the last 6 weeks, we have seen every season that Saskatchewan experiences.  On October 2, we had a nice warm summer day, and over 1100 people came out to the Corn Maze.  On October 5, we had a day of winter with 18 inches of snow falling.  Towards the end of October, we experienced all the spring offers with melting snow, mud, puddles, and even some trees starting to produce buds.  Lately, in November, we are experiencing the fall we never had in October.   For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.  Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

With the weather being so pleasant over the last few weeks, I have been able to take some pictures with a drone showcasing the Camp and the Youth Farm Complex.  Its amazing to see the many changes that have taken place on this yard.  Over the last few years a barn, church, corn maze, jumbo pillow and more has been added.  Each building has its own purpose, its own season, a time to be born, and a time to die.  Here is the latest picture of the complex that we have.

We are in the process of celebrating 75 years of ministry on this yard.  It has been an exciting year where we had many different events to commemorate the history on this site.  On June 4 we officially celebrated our 75 years with a lunch, banquet, and program.  The Corn Maze was designed as a tribute to the anniversary with a Hip Roof Barn, and the slogan "75 years of Loving God & Loving People" (See a video that showcases the Design of the 2016 Corn Maze).  We also had 75 hours of prayer for the ministry of the Youth Farm Bible Camp in the beginning of June.  The staff of YFBC are excited about the history of this yard and pray that it continues for another 75 years and beyond.

To see how many changes there have been on this yard, take a look at this aerial from the 1960s right after the Mennonite Nursing Home was built.

Many buildings have come and gone over the last 50 years.  Trees have grown, Corn has replaced a pig pasture, the Nursing Home was added to and roof replaced, Houses have been moved off and many buildings have also been moved on.  There is a season for everything, a time for all activity.

I know that I have been extremely blessed to be a part of the Youth Farm Bible Camp and the Youth Farm Complex over the last 25 years.  Not a day goes by when I walk on this yard and remember the passionate servants of God that came before and have left their mark.  God's holy work has been accomplished on this yard for decades and my hope is that it will continue to the end of the ages.
